I'm [Blank] And I'm Proud
The Queen City Kings hosted a protest music listening session and panel discussion at People's Liberty this evening. The music included Sam Cooke to NWA and even music from Nigeria. It was captivating to hear multi-generational and multi-racial perspectives of each song. I believe the conversation led to more respect and acceptance among the group of diverse participants. It's a reminder that it's often easier to talk about challenging realities like racism through a medium like music (or food). Kudos to JP, Yemi, and Kayla on an excellent gathering.
