Our friend Mary Claire Rietz worked with residents of the East Side neighborhood in Covington, Kentucky to create an artistic performance atop the Licking River levee wall. It was a passionate call for awareness to an often forgotten area of the city. Meg and I played the critical role of warming the spectators as bonfire builders. The performance was documented and shared a few weeks later just a couple of blocks away at The Carnegie.
Great ideas often have humble beginnings. The photos above are from a church basement in the East Side neighborhood of Covington, Kentucky where Mary Claire Rietz facilitated a discovery session to gather initial concepts for the Not To Scale art installation/performance on the Licking River levee wall.
